"Purim Smile Train" |
|
 |
At Purim time "Larger Than Life"
invites all kids with cancer and
their families to come aboard a
special train from Haifa to Beer
Sheba sponsored by the "Israel Train
Authority." The kids are joined by
clowns, make-up artists, performers
and many other volunteers. All Purim
celebrators enjoy a delicious,
festive luncheon and a live show at
"Caesar's Palace" in Beer Sheba.
1,200 people participate in this
project every year!

Super Summer Camp |
|
 |
Every July, "Larger Than Life" runs
a special summer camp for five
fun-filled days in northern Israel.
Around 100 kids participate in this
sleep-away camp, and are cared for
by a dedicated medical and nursing
staff. The kids have a great time
taking part in challenge sports,
parachute gliding, exciting
helicopter rides, field trips all
around this beautiful country, wild
jeep trips and much more. Every
night the kids celebrate, singing at
a Karaoke party, dancing at a D.J.
disco party and watching live
performances by Israel's best
celebrity
performers.

Computer & Music Rooms |
|
 |
To make the children's hospital stay
more pleasant, "Larger Than Life" is
setting up Computer & Music Activity
Rooms in oncology wards in hospitals
all across the country. The first
two rooms have already been
dedicated at Rambam Hospital in
Haifa and Soroka Hospital in Beer
Sheba, at a total cost of $25,000
each. We plan to establish 10 more
rooms for the benefit of kids with
cancer in Israel.

"Salute to LTL" Soccer Game |
|
 |
Every year "Larger Than Life" holds
a charity soccer game saluting our
organization - with an ad-hoc team
of Israeli soccer stars playing
against their foreign colleagues. We
invite the greatest soccer players
of all times to be our guests in the
audience. The festive event is
broadcast live on the Israeli Sports
Channel and on the Israeli Channel
throughout the U.S. In the audience
are our true guests of honor -
Israeli children with cancer and
their families. The game is also
produced as a telethon, and the
proceeds go toward Larger Than
Life's long list of wonderful
activities.

Fun Days for Moms |
|
 |
This year our organization launched
a new activity for the mothers of
"Larger Than Life" children. The
vacation holiday for moms is
designed to allow the women, who
carry the greatest burden, to take
some time off from their tough
routine and re-energize for the next
round of challenges. During the 'Fun
Days' moms enjoy some well-deserved
pampering in the form of cosmetic
and beauty treatments, tours,
workshops and full-board hospitality
at a hotel.

"Medication Assistance" Fund |
|
 |
"Larger Than Life" is in the process
of establishing a Fund to finance
medicine not found in the health
basket, which can save the lives of
children with cancer. The Fund will
be chaired by Professor Miriam Ben Harush, head of the Pediatric
Oncology Ward at Rambam Hospital,
along with a professional medical
team, which will review the requests
and approve the dispensation of
medicine. The Fund will be
established in cooperation with the
business community in Israel and
abroad.
